DAY 1

Amara Selous

Arrive into Dar Es Salaam International Airport ( DIA ) where you will be met by your Gilroy & Camm representative who will assist you with connecting onto your scheduled flight to the Selous Game Reserve. On landing into the Selous you will be met by your camps driver guide and 4WD vehicle. From here you will be transferred, by road, to your Lodge, enjoying a game drive as you go. On arrival at your Lodge, you will be assisted with check in and shown your room. At a time convenient to you, there will be a short safari briefing; after which enjoy lunch as the day cools. At roughly 4pm you will head out on your 1st game drive, giving you the opportunity to explore this wonderful park and all the wildlife it supports.

 

DAY 2

Amara Selous

Located in southern Tanzania, the Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest game reserve. It is much quieter than the Northern parks, the rivers and lakes of the Selous are the lifeblood to a park that hosts phenomenal volumes of game including Africa’s largest elephant and wild dog populations and probably it’s largest buffalo, hippo, crocodile and lion prides. The 8 open-fronted rooms, for maximum comfort provide – wonderful beds, plenty of space and probably the best showers you’ll have come across for a while – each room has panoramic views out over the river, making sure that the only noises you hear are those of the wildlife.

 

Day 3

Amara Selous

The Selous wildlife is all the more interesting as it attracts both east and southern African wildlife, both resident and migratory, and over 440 known species of birds. Lion are particularly strong here and there are large numbers of leopard. The park is home to over 50% of the endangered African wild dog and also hosts very good buffalo, giraffe, eland, hyena, sable, hippo, crocodile, kudu, baboon, wildebeest, zebra, impala, hartebeest, colobus and vervet monkeys along with over 450 species of bird.

 

Day 4

Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp

After breakfast and check out you will drive the short distance, of roughly an hour, to the Airstrip, where you will board your scheduled service to the Serengeti. This will be a long daqy of travel, having you change planes in Arusha as you make your way to the Serengeti. On landing at roughly 1430 you will be met by your camps vehicle and driver guide. After loading up the custom made 4WD safari vehicle you will game drive towards your camp. On arrival you will be given a short safari briefing before being shown your tent. After freshening up, enjoy a late lunch and relax in the shade of your rooms verandah, enjoying the Vista’s so closely associated with being on safari in the Serengeti. Once the day cools sufficiently, head out on a shared game drive, with some of the other guests staying in this camp. Return at dusk, in time to watch the sunset on yet another remarkable day.

 

Day 5 & 6

Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp

Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park is also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th world wide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Yet even when the migration is quiet, the Serengeti offers arguably the most scintillating game-viewing in Africa: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands upon thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle.
Your camp is a mobile camp, and as such moves with the wildlife. Affording you the best possible game viewing, with the most unique type of neighbors you will have ever experienced. Spend 2 full days getting to know them, with your experienced driver guide and from the comfort of a 4WD vehicle.

 

Day 7

Greystoke Mahale

After breakfast and check out you will make your way, slowly, to the local Airstrip where you will board your scheduled service to the Mahale. On arrival into their Airstrip you will be met by your Camps guide and boat. From here its roughly a hour boat trip as you zip your way along the coastline to camp, arriving for a late lunch. On arrival you will be given a short safari briefing before being shown your room.

 

Day 8 & 9

Greystoke Mahale

Spend 2 full days in this amazing Camp, with access to primates, in their natural environment, that’s almost impossible to duplicate or find anywhere else in the world. With such a sympathetic union between human and primate, you cant help but be speechless.
You will head up into these remarkable mountains with experienced guides and trekkers. Enjoy a full hour as these chimps, who are habituated, play and frolic with in close quarters. Head down to the shore edge where you may wish to relax in one of the natural waterfalls before heading out to do a spot of fishing as the sun sets. This place and its wildlife is sure to send your senses and emotions into over ride.
 

Day 10

The Manta Resort

Day 11 to 16

After a couple of intense days on safari, you will have time to cool down and relax on one of East Africa’s finest beach sanctuaries. The Manta Resort is a very special place and the Kwanini Family will welcome you with open arms.
